THE INTERFAITH COMMUNITY WALK
What is it?
The 1km is a chance for everyone to come together under one banner, as one community, to do one kilometre (twice round the cricket pitch more or less!).

This is about being active as a community of people who want to focus on wellbeing together. Inspired by movement in green spaces, this activity will show us that no matter who you are, you can do something together.

Is it a race?
Not at all! Take as long as you want, we aren’t timing anyone. It’s about being together. We’d rather you kept your breath for having stellar interfaith conversations!

Do I have to do it?
No! But we strongly encourage you to, it will send a powerful message and be a fantastic community moment.

Will anything else be open during the 1km?
We will be pausing activities on the main stage, music hub, interactive zone and reflective zone to ensure that the 1km is the main focus.

The charity zone, food vendors, fun zone, active hub and prayer space will all still be open though, so there are other options.

Do I need a ticket?
You will need to have registered for a ticket to participate in the 1km. This is so we can get your emergency contact information (it’s only 1km but we have to be safe!)

The charity zone, food vendors, fun zone, active hub and prayer space will all still be open though, so there are other options.

ON THE DAY
What will there be to do at the event?
Participating charities will be hosting stalls in the Charity Fair, with lots of fun and interactive activities for all the family to get involved with, so make sure you go and say hello!
Which facilities and amenities will be there?
There is very limited parking on site at Paddington Recreation Ground. The closes parking is at 60 Cambridge Road. The closest free parking is at 195 Lanark Road.
DOGS, HEALTH & SAFETY
What safety measures are in place for the event for my family?
We take full and extensive measures to ensure the safety of all people in attendance. There will be a First Aid area with an Ambulance ready for all eventualities on the day. The First Aiders will also be roaming the whole site throughout the event.
There is a meeting point for lost children which is the Registration Desk. Please can you point this area out to your children if the unfortunate situation arises. Also, you can direct your children to talk to anyone who is wearing an Interfaith Wellbeing Festival Staff or Volunteer t-shirt.
Can I bring my dog with?
You can bring dogs with you to the event. Please note that the event does take place in a park so there may be a number of dogs and some as well that are not on leads.

OTHER QUESTIONS
How much does it cost to spectate?
It is free to come along on the day to spectate and cheer on the runners.
There will be lots for the family to see and do.

INTERFAITH
What is interfaith?
The word ‘interfaith’ means different things to different people. At the Faith & Belief Forum we see interfaith as people of different faith, belief and cultural backgrounds getting to know each other and deepening their understanding of their differences and similarities.

Interfaith is relevant to everyone and is something we can all participate in. No matter what background or level of knowledge you have about different faiths and beliefs, there is always more to learn about those who live around you. When we are better connected as a local community, we are better placed to support each other, to work together towards areas of shared concern, and to advocate for those in our local area who are in need. Meeting new people can also challenge our own biases and prejudices (which we all have!), and enable us to reflect on our beliefs, traditions and life experiences.

What is the purpose of this event?

After a challenging year, this event is an opportunity for people to come together in solidarity and unity across communities. This event, the first of its kind in London, represents a commitment by all taking part to friendship, community, and mutual respect. This is also an excellent opportunity to learn about and support London's diverse charities and the important work they do.
